There’s a particular kind of person who builds a chicken coop… and then there’s the kind who installs a chandelier in it. I’m proudly the second kind.
What began as a simple “let’s get a few hens for eggs” situation has evolved into what can only be described as a boutique chicken residence. Cluckingham Palace, as it’s known in this household, features a repurposed china cabinet for nesting, wall décor, and yes - a pink chandelier. The chickens, I should clarify, are entirely indifferent to the interior styling. They’d be just as happy in a plain old shed.
But I’m not.
And so here we are.
Where chickens fit into Garden-to-Table
If you’re already growing your own food, chickens feel like a very natural extension of that. They take your garden from productive to deeply satisfying. Because it’s one thing to grow your own vegetables. It’s another thing entirely to collect warm eggs in the morning knowing exactly:
